BSS & Digital Business Architect

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is launching a major greenfield telecommunications initiative to establish a new fibre network operator in Syria. To support this programme, our client is building a team of senior IT architecture specialists who will be responsible for defining the future IT ecosystem and preparing the technical documentation required for the procurement and implementation phases.
The engagement will cover IT strategy, enterprise architecture, OSS, BSS, ERP, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, integration, governance, operating model design, procurement documentation, and implementation planning.
The assignment is expected to last approximately six months and will be delivered primarily on-site in Damascus. Additional travel may be required depending on project needs.
ROLE
The BSS & Digital Business Architect will define the customer, partner, commercial, billing, revenue-management, and digital platform landscape required to support a wholesale fibre operator.
The role will ensure that the target BSS ecosystem supports partner-centric operations, commercial flexibility, service-level management, automated onboarding, and scalable Order-to-Cash processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Define the BSS strategy, architecture, and target operating principles.
· Identify the business capabilities required for wholesale and partner-based operations.
· Design the target architecture for CRM, partner management, product catalogue, CPQ, order management, billing, revenue management, customer care, and self-service portals.
· Map end-to-end Lead-to-Order and Order-to-Cash processes.
· Define the business capabilities required for launch and future growth.
· Design integration requirements between BSS, OSS, ERP, data platforms, and external partners.
· Define partner onboarding, API exposure, customer-data, and commercial-data requirements.
· Lead workshops covering commercial, operational, billing, settlement, and reporting requirements.
· Define SLA management, charging, invoicing, settlement, revenue assurance, and partner-reporting requirements.
· Prepare BSS-related RFIs, RFPs, technical specifications, SLAs, KPIs, evaluation criteria, and acceptance criteria.
· Participate in vendor evaluations, solution reviews, and product demonstrations.
· Define the BSS ownership model, governance structure, commercial-support processes, and reporting framework.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong experience in BSS architecture within telecommunications environments.
Proven knowledge of CRM, product catalogue, CPQ, order management, billing, charging, settlement, and partner-management solutions.
Experience supporting wholesale, fibre, carrier, or partner-based telecommunications business models.
Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes and OSS/BSS integration.
Experience preparing procurement documentation and evaluating BSS vendors.
Previous experience in a greenfield telecom launch would be advantageous.
