ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is launching a major greenfield telecommunications initiative to establish a new fibre network operator in Syria. To support this programme, our client is building a team of senior IT architecture specialists who will be responsible for defining the future IT ecosystem and preparing the technical documentation required for the procurement and implementation phases.
The engagement will cover IT strategy, enterprise architecture, OSS, BSS, ERP, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, integration, governance, operating model design, procurement documentation, and implementation planning.
The assignment is expected to last approximately six months and will be delivered primarily on-site in Damascus. Additional travel may be required depending on project needs.
ROLE
The Infrastructure, Cloud & Cybersecurity Architect will define the technology foundation required to support the new operator.
The role will cover cloud and hosting strategy, infrastructure architecture, identity and access management, cybersecurity, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, DevSecOps, observability, integration technology, governance, and operational readiness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define the infrastructure, cloud, hosting, and cybersecurity strategy.
• Establish cloud-first, resilience-by-design, and security-by-design principles.
• Define the target architecture for cloud platforms, compute, storage, networks, identity, security platforms, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, DevSecOps, and observability.
• Assess and define the appropriate cloud, hybrid-cloud, and hosting model.
• Design a scalable, secure, resilient, and operationally efficient technology foundation.
• Define the cybersecurity architecture, control framework, and governance model.
• Develop the identity and access management strategy.
• Define security-monitoring, incident-response, and Security Operations Centre requirements.
• Establish security risk-management, compliance, business-continuity, and disaster-recovery requirements.
• Define middleware, API gateway, integration platform, and secure communication requirements.
• Establish enterprise technology standards and infrastructure design principles.
• Prepare infrastructure, cloud, hosting, managed-services, and cybersecurity RFIs and RFPs.
• Support the evaluation of cloud providers, managed-service providers, infrastructure vendors, and security suppliers.
• Define service levels, cybersecurity KPIs, operational controls, acceptance criteria, and transition requirements.
• Define the infrastructure and security operating model, governance forums, vendor-management framework, and implementation roadmap.
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong experience in infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity architecture.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms, hybrid infrastructure, networks, identity, security operations, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, SOC, DevSecOps, observability, API security, and integration technologies.
• Experience developing cybersecurity governance, risk, compliance, and operational frameworks.
• Experience preparing technical RFPs and evaluating cloud, infrastructure, security, and managed-service providers.
• Telecommunications or critical-infrastructure experience would be highly desirable.
